Pha Poom manuscripts (about 50 to 100 entries/binds) were found to
(Mat Mee) be 200 years old. Clearly, Thong Noppakhun was
prosperous and was the center of education with various
arts and religious sciences (Wattana Puengchuen, 2017).
After the news of the survey had spread out, I
travelled to Wat Thong Noppakhun and witnessed all the
palm - leaf manuscripts, Dhamma cabinets, and, most
importantly, Pha Ho Kham Phi. The working group of the
survey kept these fabrics separately. There were varieties
of these fabrics such as silk, Mat Mee, Indian printed, satin,
etc. This reflects the culture of creating a particular
palm - leaf manuscript wrapper.
